The Pre-colonial period, Spanish Colonization period, Propaganda and Revolutionary period, American Colonization period, Japanese Occupation period, and Contemporary or Modern period is the six literary eras in the Philippines.

Through Philippine literature, we are able to understand the authors' thoughts. We have the capacity to see their concepts and become one with them. By using their writing style or the structure of their literary works, they may even influence the audience's thoughts.

Because Maria Cecilia de la Rosa gives her poetry a unique flavor and perspective, they are ideal examples of 21st-century literature.
