II. Body (Write your central argument. It can be further broken up into three unique sections:
a. Background information; A new dam is deemed to solve the water crisis in the city. However, it will affect a large portion of ancestral lands belonging to indigenous people. It will give irreversible damages to the environment as well.

C. A discussion of both sides of the issue, which addresses and refutes arguments that contradict your position
First, it is not right to sacrifice another people’s lives and livelihood in exchange of the other. All rights must be equal among people. Indigenous people have suffered maltreatment for years already. They have been battling against corporations and government because they are protecting their lands. Second of all, most ancestral lands hold enormous natural resources and these are also considered as a stronghold to protect people against natural calamities like typhoon. Third, building a dam is not the only solution to address water shortages. Fourth, entering a contract with a foreign company risk national security.
III. Conclusion (Restate the key points and, where applicable, suggesting resolutions to the issue.)
To sum it all up, the contract will have no long-term benefit. It might solve water crisis in a city but that will only be for a short-time. It is not beneficial overall because in the long run, if the effects of this construction will build-up, water crisis may only be the least of the government’s problems. There are studies that dams do not solve water supply. According to some studies and solutions that are being used efficiently, recharging ground water can work efficiently.
